Never thought it would come to this

A blog is born. I will share my stories and photos. It will be a good thing.
Tonight our book club had an interesting guest speaker. Renee Simmons, sister of Ron Williamson, title character of John Grisham's only non-fiction book, The Innocent Man. Ron was convicted in 1988 of a 1982 Ada, Oklahoma murder that he did not commit. He spent 11 years on death row and was released in 1999. He died in 2004 at the age of 51.
Renee lives right up the road from me. She retold to us some of what we had read in the book but she also gave us some insight into the process by which this particular book came to fruition. It was fascinating to learn what it was like to work with John Grisham on getting this book about her brother published. She was very grateful for the chance to have his story made public.
